How to get the new material design look in your Google Calendar web app? + New Features

Google Calendar has finally made its move towards the Google material design policy which is nice to see. The new look brings some new features also packed inside. However, you have to manually set it. It is already live for all the G Suite users but if you are not on, here's how you can enable it.

It is as easy as reading this post. Just visit calendar.google.com and click the 'Use new calendar' button and her you have it. Some users (even me) are not seeing the button on their web app. For those, you can click this link to have the button.


Finally, here's the cool new material design look of the Google Calendar web app.



Now, the Calendar web app has added a multi-column Day view, so you can more easily view events from multiple calendars at once. You can also now add rich text formatting and hyperlinks to calendar invites, view contact info of event participants, easily restore deleted items, and more easily share calendars.

One of the best features Android Oreo bright was the adaptive icons in which developers can make different icon shapes so that the user can choose one according to his like our dislike. Yesterday, Nova Launcher v5.5 came up on Play Store with adaptive icons support. At this moment, I don't think they are working well and are a little bit buggy. By default, they are turned off in the launcher settings.   There are almost only the Google apps supporting the feature with some few others. For those apps, Nova intelligently changes the background with the primary colour of that icon. I don't know if they support only default icons or different icon packs too because on my phone, only when icons are selected to system, the feature works. The Global Math Challenge is Back

The forth Global Math Challenge which is also known as GMC is now back. It is an online competition which is held online and is hosted by Sony Global Education, Inc. Signing up for this competition is free but registration takes a free trial plan or a standard plan which has explanations for answers and many more things. The online test for this competition will held from November 17 to November 19. After the test, results will come after a short period in trial plans but standard plan will give you rankings, test analysis, etc. It's a very good platform for the Math lovers. The Google event was just great with the entrance of some new hardware products in the family of Google. But the product people want to see was the Google Pixel 2. Yes, the phone has announced and to me, it is looking very great. I wanted to share my thoughts with you and so here I am. Let's start the discussion now. Design Hmmmm... There are mixed feelings for the design in my mind. The back of the phone is not the best in my opinion but really had improved a lot.
