It has been a while now since Android Police gave us a leaked image of Pixel 2 and many other leaks of the phone started coming. We came to know about the bezel-less design, squeezable frame, 4GB of RAM, a 5.99" 1440p panel will be on the XL. The Samsung Galaxy Note 8... The bigger Galaxy S8???

Image
Samsung has finally unveiled the Galaxy Note8, revealing the (rather heavily-leaked) device at its Unpacked event in New York City today. The Note8 sports a 6.3" Quad HD+ Super AMOLED display at an aspect ratio of 18.5:9. Branded as an Infinity Display like those on the S8 and S8+, the Note8's screen has incredibly tiny bezels all around, giving it a striking and modern look. But the similarities don't end there. The Note8 has the same processor (Snapdragon 835), same storage (64GB in the US), same IP68 rating, wireless charging, and same ports (USB-C, 3.5mm) as the S8. It runs basically the same TouchWiz software, albeit updated to Android 7.1.1. Pre-orders start on the 24th a nd the US will be getting only two of the four total colors (at least, to start) - Orchid Grey and Black. In the US, the Note8 will be on all four major carriers, as well as available unlocked direct from Samsung and select retailers. Retail availability in the US starts on September

WhatsApp's new type of status... Just like the old way!

Image
WhatsApp's most recent beta version bought this new update in the form of a way of sending status. This new way is just same as the old way but in a more customizable style. You can now change the font of the text and even the background colour. But yeah, there should also be an option to change the text colour if you are giving so much customizability. The good thing is that web links can also be opened just by clicking at it. This is really a great touch to this feature.  The photo above shows the way your written status will look on WhatsApp Web. Between this, I also found this. This is the Status tab on WhatsApp Web. This actually look totally different from the theme of the app. However it is, it is in front of you. You can try this new feature if you are a beta tester for Whatsapp. Else, I am dropping a link  of the APK  of this version . WhatsApp Messenger 2.17.309 beta

Holo App: Let's have fun with Holograms

Image
We have already seen the power of augmented reality in tango enabled phones. Problem was we can't use and try that on any other smartphone. I found this app a few days ago called Holo . This app was firstly can be only on tango phones. I don't know when, but can now be used by anyone using Android 5.0 and above. Beware that compatibility will also depend on some sensors. OK... Let's come on to the point... How's the app? This app is really great to have fun with augmented reality. You can have spider man and tiger standing beside you. You can have tons of 3D characters in the store to download and use. SOME SCREENSHOTS FOR YOU...    The controls are the only things which make the app a little bit annoying. Everything is placed in the bottom of the app. Swipe up a little bit to get characters and swipe up completely to the top gets you to the store. All this looks and feels very annoying. But at the end of day, you forget them and lost in the h

This is really what we wanted: Oreo!

Image
Android 8.0 is finally after our wait and developer previews for months is now officially Android Oreo. I know this late but this is because of the time difference in India and America. This is really wonderful... the Nexus 5X, Nexus 6P, Nexus Player, Pixel C, Pixel, and Pixel XL have already starting getting the updates. If you don't know here are the best features and improvements of Android Oreo update. The New Settings UI Google has changed the whole settings with a white-type of look. They have removed the hamburger menu, which they added to the settings in Android Nougat. Now, there are less number of tabs and many settings have been shifted. Snoozing Notifications Yes, you read it right, you can now snooze your notifications for 15, 30 or 60 minutes and they will arrive again after the time overs. Quick Settings This not a big deal but the tiles in the quick settings can now only be expanded by clicking on the text below the icon, not that ico

Mi Mix designer shows what a beauty the Mi Mix 2 can be!

Image
The Mi Mix was one of the first phone to get in the trend of bezel-less design which looked pretty amazing. Many companies like Samsung, LG, etc. have started removing bezels from their phones whereas still many companies are working on it. Many people after taking a look at Mi Mix were thinking what the company will do with the next version. The photo above can be really a Mi Mix 2 look. Almost zero bezels! This concept is designed by the official Mi Mix designer Philippe Starck. He posted a video on his Facebook page  about his concept. This can be true as can also be the designer of Mi Mix 2. Looking at this just feels like a dream smartphone. If this will be the real Mi Mix 2, this is even better than the upcoming iPhone 8 leaks we all have seen. Let's see what happens in the future?

Android O releasing on this 21st, very much confirmed that it will be Android Oreo

Image
Google has just confirmed that Android O will be releasing on August 21st with post  on Android. The post also has some info on the solar eclipse happening that day. It will be live streamed from New York starting at 2:40 P.M. ET. There are only two days left according to that which means our wait is nearly over. But there's one more big thing to tell. In a video teaser, posted on Google+ via Google themselves for Android O has file name 'GoogleOreo_Teaser_0817_noDroids (1).mp4' which states that it is going to be Android Oreo.  The story of this situation doesn't stopped here. Because of getting so much attention to that file name it was then renamed to 'OctopusTeaser.mp4'.  My mind says that someone by mistake gave the file name to oreo. And after getting the knowledge of the whole happening, it was changed to octopus. I think it can be also some sort of game by Google to make us feel confused.  But we can do only one thing till 21st, wait

Allo for web arrives with all the great functionality but just in your Chrome

Image
Allo was not much liked by the people but this doesn't stops the team at Google working on the app. With many new small tweaks, it finally arrives with Allo for web. The process is just to open pretty simple. Just open  allo.google.com/web  on your browser and scan the QR Code and you are done. But... there comes a twist. It only works with Google Chrome Browser. If you are using any other browser, it will prompt you a message for downloading Google Chrome. This is all the same design and I also found almost all the basic functions like Incognito Mode, Chat Theme, etc., given in the app working properly on web too. Also, keyboard shortcuts are provided to use while surfing Allo on the web. Thumbs up for that! There's one thing that asking the Assistant to play any game will bring only links without any big sort of cards like in the app. I was wanting a feature in the web app which would be able to open my Allo chats and contacts with the help of my E-Ma
