How to? Enable material design in different elements of Chrome
Chrome is the first thing that comes to my mind when thinking of browsers. There is a big chance that you will be reading this article on Chrome. The browser is already a great browser but there are some Chrome flags which can enhance your experience with material design on Chrome.
For those, who don't know that what actually Chrome flags are? This is the place of experimental features of Chrome which are still in development or can be used to enable or disable some features. You can see the Chrome flags by typing chrome://flags in Chrome.
Don't think that the design of Chrome will completely change from every corner. There will be some elements and pages where you will see the changes. There is a probability that not even all of them work. Let's move on to the main topic without any further due. Here's the list of all of those flags.
Material Design
Google's work on pushing material design to all of its products is still not complete and can be noticed in many of its products. Chrome has started gaining the material design but not everywhere. So, here are the flags which can enable material design in some more places inside the Chrome. Just go ahead and search for 'material design' in 'Find in page' option. There will be 6 options, just turn on all of them. Let's see what they can do!
1. Material Design in the rest of the browser's native UI
Enabling this setting will apply the material design to finer design elements present in the Chrome browser such as dialogue boxes, bubbles etc.
2. Enable Material Design policy page
As it says, it will change down the Chrome's police page to reflect the new material design.
3. Enable Material Design bookmarks
It will redesign the Chrome's bookmark page and enable the material design to it.
4. Enable Material Design feedback
If enabled, reporting an issue will load the Material Design feedback UI.
5. Material Design Incognito NTP.
This will change the NEW TAB page in incognito window of Chrome to material design with better readable text.
6. Enable Material Design extensions
As the name suggests, the extensions page of Chrome will also adopt Google's material design vision.
- Relaunch Chrome
Just after enabling all of them, click the 'Relaunch Now' button. Chrome will restart and you will see material design in all the different elements of Chrome mentioned above.
